*Sex Addicts Anonymous (S.A.A.)
Sex Addicts Anonymous, SAA, is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so they may overcome their sexual addiction and help others recover from sexual addiction or dependency.
S.L.A.A. is a Twelve Step Fellowship of men and women who help each other stay sober. S.L.A.A. believes that sex and love addiction is a progressive illness which cannot be cured but which, like many illnesses, can be arrested. It can take many forms – including but not limited to a compulsive need for sex, extreme dependency on one or many people, or a chronic preoccupation with romance, intrigue, or fantasy. An obsessive compulsive pattern, either sexual or emotional, or both, exists in which relationships or sexual activities have become increasingly destructive to career, family and sense of self-respect.
A 12-Step organization whose members help one another to abstain from various sex worker enterprises.
There are several PA groups that meet regularly in Chicago, but no listing is available. Footprints offers a PA group each Friday, at 7:30 p.m. Other possible PA sites include the Women’s Treatment Center and Haymarket Center.

Survivor driven agency run by survivors of the sex trade. They provide health services, counseling, referrals to transitional housing and addiction treatment facilities, employment placement and educational support for young women between the ages of 12-25 who have survived the sex trade.

The Night Ministry
The Night Ministry connects with Chicago’s vulnerable youth and adults through street outreach, youth shelter and supportive services, and their mobile health outreach bus. They provide basic resources, free healthcare, housing and supportive services for youth and referrals to other agencies for specific resources.
The Young Women’s Empowerment Project is a community based youth lead project that was founded in 2001 by a radical feminist and harm reduction based collective of women and girls involved in the sex trade and street economy and their allies. They were created by women and girls who believe that any girl can be empowered and that all girls are priceless, creative, and smart and can be leaders in their communities.
YWEP offers girls involved in the sex trade and street economy ages 12-23 non-judgmental support, harm reduction information and resources.
In a safe and nurturing environment, the Center on Halsted serves as a catalyst for the LGBT community that links and provides community resources, and enriches life experiences.
The Horizons Youth Program is for youth ages 13-24, who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, are questioning their sexual orientation or are straight allies. The Center’s safe, supportive and confidential environment allows young adults to build their understanding of the LGBT community and resources, to explore their feelings and experiences, and to meet other young people.
The program is designed to assist young people in developing a genuine sense of self and becoming comfortable with both their uniqueness and their similarities.
PROMISE: Partnership to Rescue our Minors from Sexual Exploitation
The Salvation Army developed the PROMISE model (Partnership to Rescue our Minors from Sexual Exploitation) to combat the sexual trafficking of our children. In January of 2005, the PROMISE model was launched in Chicago. The model includes the formation of a task force which engages in initiating the four main provisions of PROMISE. The provisions are: Awareness, Prevention, Intervention, and Service Delivery. To insure a holistic approach, specific strategies for implementing these provisions are developed by PROMISE members who represent the social service, education, legal, judicial, healthcare, and law enforcement sectors of our community.
STOP IT aids in the elimination of human trafficking, by the rescue of victims and protection of survivors, as well as the prosecution of traffickers and exploiters. They are committed to educating the community to recognize and identify possible victims of trafficking.
The Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ICASA) is a not-for-profit corporation of 33 community-based sexual assault crisis centers working together to end sexual violence. Each center provides 24-hour crisis intervention services, counseling and advocacy for victims of sexual assault and their significant others. Each center presents prevention education programs in Illinois communities.
Illinois Department of Human Services-Illinois Rescue and Restore Campaign
The State of Illinois has partnered with the Federal government to combat labor and sex trafficking in Illinois. Led by Governor Rod Blagojevich, Illinois has joined the US Department of Health and Human Services and other law enforcement, social service, healthcare, and advocacy organizations across the state to fight what the Governor has dubbed a modern day form of slavery.
The mission at the National Runaway Switchboard is to help keep America’s runaway and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. Their 24-hour crisis line has experienced front-line team members ready to help. Their services are anonymous, confidential and free.
The National Immigrant Justice Center ensures human rights protections and access to justice for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers through direct legal services, policy reform, impact litigation, and public education.
CAASE believes that a key strategy in stopping commercial sexual exploitation is to eliminate the demand for the sex trade through prevention and intervention. To accomplish this goal CAASE focuses on raising awareness in the general community about the harms of the sex trade; creates and implements preventative programming for youth; participates in advocacy efforts and works in strategic alliances through out the city to accomplish its goals.
Pillars’ Sexual Assault Services offers evaluation, counseling, advocacy, and innovative therapies for people affected by sexual assault — including a 24-hour crisis line and specialized sexual assault programs serving Arab-American women. Constance Morris House offers safe haven, advocacy, and counseling for women and children experiencing domestic violence. This is the only such shelter in the near western suburbs and it is among the first to offer on-site healthcare and substance abuse counseling.

The Rape Victim Advocates medical advocacy program currently works with 13 Chicago-area hospitals. Our medical advocacy services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at the Emergency Rooms of one of these 13 hospitals. Free and confidential counseling is provided by professional counselors to survivors of sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and incest.

The YWCA provides assistance to victims of sexual assault, educates about the effects of violence in our community and promotes general health and wellness through our Sexual Violence and Support Services (SVSS). Current programs include: sexual assault support services, violence prevention, domestic violence counseling, general counseling, hoslistic health.
Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, Quetzal Center
The Quetzal Center provides 24-hour crisis intervention, bi-lingual individual and group counseling, medical and criminal advocacy to victims and survivors of sexual violence. The Quetzal Center assures that survivors are treated with dignity, respect and compassion during line-ups, courts and trials, and promotes institutional advocacy efforts to change the negative responses of survivors through public education and professional training. The Quetzal Center services are free for survivors and significant others and include: bilingual individual (in-person and telephone) and group counseling, information and referral, legal and medical advocacy, professional training, public education.
A bilingual/bicultural agency seeks to empower women, their families, and youth to become self-reliant and able to take full advantage of available opportunities, and create new opportunities to improve the quality of their lives.
